I think an on-air apology is in order. You should apologize to your viewers, your sponsors, and most importantly, the people involved in (event). It's only right to apologize to those who were offended by your coverage.

We've been friends for a long time, so the only reason I'm even writing this letter is because I know you would want to know what has been happening. One of the things I enjoy most about my home is the garden. As you know, I've spent a lot of time outside planting flowers and nurturing them. I've noticed several of the blossoms on some of my plants have been torn off lately. At first I thought birds or dogs were eating my plants, but then I saw your children running through my garden last week. I know they didn't mean any harm, but they are ruining my garden. Would you mind talking to the kids and asking them to please go around the garden? I don't mind if they want to play in my yard, but I would like them to stay out of the garden, especially because I put so much work into it.

I am upset about the recent decision by the city council to adopt a curfew rule for all residents in (city). While I agree that the curfew should be enforced for those under the age of 18, I think that enforcing this rule on every citizen is obsessive. The last couple of storms we've had, nobody has come to clear the parking lot. In fact, during the last storm, I watched several of my neighbors get stuck and spin on the ice in the parking lot because it hadn't been cleared. Perhaps they have just forgotten that we are part of the service you pay them for.
